Separate vehicle reservations from tickets.

Within Passenger Transportation Services
Washington State Ferries explicitly separates a vehicle reservation from a ticket purchase. Its reservation itself has no charge except applicable no-show charges. Treat reservation completion and fare payment as distinct outcomes when evaluating a campaign for those services.
WSF's reservation page covers specified routes and vehicle customers; walk-on and bicycle passengers do not need these vehicle reservations. Qualify the campaign by route and traveler type rather than treating the vehicle-space form as the purchase funnel for all passengers.
WSF describes vehicle reservations as one-way and instructs customers to reserve both directions. Two reservation confirmations can therefore belong to one round-trip customer. Define the unit before interpreting reservation counts as distinct customers or paid round-trip ticket sales.
WSF distinguishes reservation no-show charges from ticket purchases and publishes cancellation conditions. Keep a retained no-show charge separate from fulfilled travel in campaign analysis. The charge does not, by itself, demonstrate that the reserved vehicle boarded or that the fare was purchased.

Research scope
Benchmark status reviewed 11 October 2026.
The exact category cohort does not support a publishable AOV aggregate.
Median and middle 50% of account-level average order values. Each account value is purchase ROAS multiplied by cost per purchase in USD. Successful classifications, including manual corrections, with positive finite spend, purchases, ROAS and cost per purchase. Accounts are counted once with equal weight. Quartiles use linear interpolation. Root cohorts include direct root classifications and their child categories; exact-child cohorts exclude parent and sibling categories. The source selects the highest-spend coverage row per account among snapshots dated within the preceding 30 days; the underlying reporting period is not supplied. This is a dated aggregate advertising-data snapshot, not business-wide AOV or a census. Parent and sibling benchmarks are never substituted.
