The 5 Best AdEspresso Alternatives in 2026, Compared

Why teams look beyond AdEspresso, and how five alternatives compare on features, pricing, pros and cons.

AdEspresso is a Facebook and Instagram ad builder whose site describes split testing, rules and PDF reports. Teams start looking elsewhere for a few reasons: we found no AI in it, its cheapest plan is capped at $1,000 of monthly ad spend, and G2 reviewers mention limited integrations and slow support replies. This guide compares five alternatives on what they do, how they differ from AdEspresso and what they cost.

What is AdEspresso, and why do teams look elsewhere?

AdEspresso is an ad management tool for Facebook and Instagram advertisers, owned by Hootsuite. AdEspresso's site describes an optimiser that pauses the costliest ads and moves budget to the best ones, and rules on cost per acquisition, conversions and return on investment. It also describes split tests, a spreadsheet tool that makes many ad variations and drag-and-drop PDF reports. Its help centre didn't load for us, so we treat these as what its site describes.

G2 lists 74 reviews of AdEspresso. The newest of the 16 we read is from August 2023, and we found no product updates since early 2024. These are the reasons teams give for looking elsewhere:

  • No AI that we found. We found no AI assistant, chat or AI ad generation on AdEspresso's pricing page, tour pages or homepage, and 1 of its 16 most recent G2 reviews says it lacks AI features.
  • A spend cap on the cheapest plan. Starter is $49 a month and capped at $1,000 of monthly ad spend, and unlimited spend needs Plus at $99. Price, the 14-day trial and paid features are the most common complaint in its 16 most recent reviews (5 of 16).
  • Limited integrations with other marketing tools (3 of 16).
  • Slow support replies (2 of 16) and lag or slow processing (2 of 16).

What to look for in an AdEspresso alternative

  • Whether AI does part of the work or you set up every campaign, test and rule yourself.
  • Whether you approve what the AI changes, and which plan it comes with.
  • What the price depends on: a plan tier, your ad spend, credits, or accounts and seats.
  • Creative in the same place as analysis, so what you learn turns into new ads.

The 5 best AdEspresso alternatives

1. Madgicx Best overall

Madgicx is an AI platform for Meta ads. It lists the next steps for your account and builds what you ask for in a chat, and nothing it proposes changes your ads until you approve it.

What it does: A list of next steps for your account, such as pausing ads that lose money or answering ad comments, which you approve or dismiss. A chat that answers questions on your account data and creates campaigns, ad sets and ads, paused until you approve. Ready-made and custom automation rules. Image ads generated from a prompt, from your own best ads or from real ads in a built-in library, with an AI image editor. Analysis of which creatives and lines of copy bring results. Ready-made and AI audiences, launched in a few clicks. A full account audit covering targeting, demographics, geography and auctions. Reports that combine Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Klaviyo and GA4, shared by link or PDF.

Compared with AdEspresso: AdEspresso is a manual builder, and we found no AI in it. Madgicx recommends the next step, builds campaigns from a chat and makes the ads, and adds audiences, an account audit and help with ad comments, all in every plan.

Pricing: One plan priced by monthly Meta spend: $45 a month up to $1,000 of spend, $129 up to $10,000 and $329 up to $30,000. Prices for higher spend levels are on our pricing page. Unlimited seats and ad generations, 15% off quarterly and 30% off annually, and a 7-day free trial.

Pros:

  • AI recommends and builds, and nothing it proposes changes your ads until you approve it.
  • The AI, rules, audiences and reports come with every plan.
  • The price is set by your Meta spend only, with unlimited seats.
  • 4.6 on G2 from 220+ reviews.

Cons:

  • Campaign management is built for Meta, while Google Ads and TikTok data appear in reports.
  • Generates image ads, not video.

2. Bïrch

Bïrch, formerly Revealbot, is an ad automation tool built around rules you write, with an AI layer on top.

What it does: Rules with conditions in nested groups that pause or start campaigns, change budgets and bids and send alerts, checking as often as every 15 minutes. Launching several ad sets at once with up to 50 ads each. Preset reports on top, fatigued and declining ads. White-label reports sent on a schedule. A custom and lookalike audience builder on the Pro plan. An AI chat that reads performance and edits existing Meta ads, asking for approval by default, and drafts rules for you to review.

Compared with AdEspresso: a deeper rule builder with more frequent checks, plus bulk launching and an AI chat, but you still write and maintain the rules. Bïrch's help centre says the chat can't create campaigns, and we found no AI ad generation.

Pricing: Essential is $49 a month and Pro is $99, both billed by monthly ad spend across connected platforms and covering up to $10,000. Above that, overage terms apply or you move to Enterprise, which is quoted. Annual billing is 20% off, and the free trial lasts 14 days with no card.

Pros:

  • A deep rule builder with frequent checks.
  • Launches many ads at once.
  • White-label reports on a schedule, and Slack and email alerts.

Cons:

  • Its AI chat edits existing ads but can't create campaigns, and we found no AI ad generation.
  • You write and maintain every rule, and we found no help with ad comments.
  • Few recent user reviews: 19 on G2, the latest from March 2025.

3. AdStellar

AdStellar is an AI media buyer for Meta ads that builds campaigns, makes creative and acts on your account.

What it does: An AI campaign builder that scores your past performance and builds campaign structures, with settings from conservative to experimental. Bulk launching of ad variations. Image ads and video or UGC ads generated from a product URL. Leaderboards that rank creatives, headlines, copy and audiences against your own targets. An AI agent, in the app and in Slack, that can pause and resume ads and change ad set budgets after you confirm each change. Most of this is described on AdStellar's homepage and AdStellar's changelog.

Compared with AdEspresso: it adds what we found missing in AdEspresso: AI campaign building, an agent that acts after you confirm, and image and video ad generation.

Pricing: $100 a month for the TeamOne plan with 50,000 AI credits, and extra credits cost $2 per 1,000. There are no per-seat fees or annual contract, and new users get $100 in free credits and a 7-day free trial.

Pros:

  • Makes video and UGC ads as well as images.
  • An AI agent that asks you to confirm before it changes your account.
  • No per-seat fees.

Cons:

  • Pricing by credits: AI launches, image ads, video and analysis all use them, so cost depends on how much you use.
  • We found no rules engine with condition-based triggers.
  • We found few user reviews to judge it by, and most of its feature details come from its own site.

4. AdManage

AdManage is a bulk ad launcher for paid social and other ad channels.

What it does: Upload your creatives once and publish them in batches, with 150+ ads in a single batch listed. Auto-grouping that detects filename patterns, naming templates, an AI namer for ad names, and preview links so clients can review a batch without Business Manager access. AdManage's site also claims bulk edits to status, budgets and settings.

Compared with AdEspresso: a narrower tool. It focuses on launching ads in bulk and sharing batches with clients, where AdEspresso also describes split testing, rules and reports. We found no rules engine or AI agent in AdManage.

Pricing: A flat monthly fee, not a share of ad spend. Essential is £199.99 a month for one Meta ad account and two team members, Agency is £999.99, and Enterprise is custom priced. No free trial is listed, and the page states a 7-day money-back guarantee.

Pros:

  • Fast bulk launching with naming templates.
  • Client preview links that need no Business Manager access.

Cons:

  • A £199.99 entry price for one Meta ad account.
  • No rules or AI agent that we found.
  • Its pages differ on whether you can edit budgets on live ads, so confirm before you buy.

5. Optmyzr

Optmyzr is a PPC management and automation platform, built first for Google Ads, with tools for Microsoft, Meta and LinkedIn.

What it does: A rule engine for Meta and LinkedIn that can pause ads and campaigns and change budgets, bids and statuses, running daily, weekly or on demand, with an option to review suggested changes before they apply. Budget tools that suggest how to reallocate spend and change budgets only after you apply them. A chat assistant that previews and applies keyword changes in Google and Microsoft Ads after you approve. An image editor for social ads with AI copy, AI images and multi-placement variations, added in July 2026.

Compared with AdEspresso: deeper rules and budget tools for PPC teams, with an AI chat that works on Google and Microsoft keywords in the actions we found. Google Ads is its core platform, with Meta as one of several.

Pricing: Plans are sized by monthly ad spend on a slider from 25K to 500K+, and Enterprise is quoted. We couldn't confirm the dollar amounts. There's a free trial with no card, and annual billing is advertised at 30% off.

Pros:

  • Rules that run daily, weekly or on demand, with an option to review changes first.
  • Budget changes that apply only after you approve them.
  • A free trial with no card.

Cons:

  • Built Google Ads first, so Meta is one tool among several.
  • How often rules run depends on the plan, weekly or monthly on Essentials.
  • Meta rules act at campaign or ad level and can't change individual images or headlines.

Our verdict

Madgicx is the best overall AdEspresso alternative for advertisers who spend mostly on Meta. It does what a manual builder doesn't: recommends the next step, builds campaigns from a chat and makes your ads, with audiences, rules and an account audit in one plan from $45 a month. Try it free for 7 days alongside your current setup.

How we compared these tools

  1. What each tool does for a Meta advertiser, from analysis to creative and automation.
  2. How it compares with AdEspresso on the same jobs.
  3. Whether AI does part of the work, and whether you approve each change.
  4. Total cost at different spend levels, and what the price depends on.

We went through each tool's product pages, help centre and pricing, and AdEspresso's and Bïrch's G2 reviews. AdEspresso's help centre didn't load for us, so its rules and split testing are what its site describes.
