  • Image expansion is gradually being rolled out on Advantage+ catalog ads, so check your account regularly to see if you want to use this feature on shopping campaigns.
  • Eligible advertisers have image expansion enabled by default. 

Profile end card

This creative enhancement adds an end card to Facebook and Instagram carousel ads with your profile image that links to your Page or account.

Adapt to placement

Advantage+ creative automatically displays any 9:16 images in your catalog as the default format for Stories and Reels placements.

Highlight carousel card

Advantage+ creative will show your best-performing card first in a Facebook and Instagram carousel ad. However, if your carousel is designed with a specific sequence in mind, be careful when using this.

Dynamic description

The feature lets the Advantage+ creative AI decide whether to show or hide your carousel ad’s description if it may improve its performance. This enhancement is great! You should definitely turn it on.

Enabling this enhancement lets the AI determine comments on an ad that could improve performance and displays them below your ad on Facebook and Instagram. It will only show existing positive comments.

Site links

Site links are a great addition to the suite of Advantage+ creative enhancements, and you should definitely use them when they make sense for your campaign. However, if you're not careful, you can accidentally scroll right past the setting in the Ads Manager.

If you click “Review and confirm,” you can go through the list of your URLs.

You can enter a URL, and Meta will automatically produce a list of links to select. You can also type in the web page manually to add links. These links will appear as buttons alongside your ad on Facebook Feeds.

Knowing which links to use from the list and how many links to show can be confusing. The most important thing to remember is relevance is everything. It’s better to have a couple of highly relevant links than a long list of every link on your website.

  • For e-commerce businesses, you can include links to the product category or sale items. You should also add links to your shipping and return policy, which may help seal the deal.

Image generation

You can make many ad creative variations in two ways with Meta’s generative AI:

  • Background image generation: Generate different backgrounds on uploaded images with an object in them, like a product.
  • Full image generation: Using an image from your media library or one you upload as a reference, the generative AI feature creates a new creative version with additional overlays or elements. These could be adding your logo, text overlays, background colors, or an object featured in the original image. 

You can choose the variations you like from the ad preview and apply other Advantage+ creative optimizations.

Pro tips:

  • For ads showing a specific product, it’s best to use background rather than full image generation. Otherwise, the AI will replicate any object from the reference image.

Additional Catalog ad enhancements

  • Advantage+ creative for catalog: When using a catalog, like in shopping campaigns, you can tailor your products to display in ad formats or types users are most likely to respond to.
  • Dynamic media: Let AI decide whether to show people either images or videos based on what a particular user finds more engaging.
  • Add catalog items: When it's likely to improve performance, items from your catalog will be shown along with your chosen ad creative. 

Pro tip:

  • Some enhancements only become available when you choose “Manual upload” during ad setup. They may not be available if you select “Catalog” to dynamically create a carousel using your products.

In certain accounts, you have the flexibility to toggle on standard enhancements along with other creative enhancements. While this option is available, it's best to ensure that the enhancements you choose will genuinely enhance the performance of your campaign.

How to set up Advantage+ creative

Head to the Meta Ads Manager and go to the ad level of your campaign. Scroll down to the Advantage+ creative section, which shows the number of enhancements you have enabled. Click the “Edit” or the “Advanced Preview” button in the preview panel to open the enhancements window.

The full list of available enhancements for this ad is in the Advantage+ creative tab that opens when you click the “Advanced Preview” button. Remember that several factors determine which ones you can use.

You can click the blue link at the bottom that says “Show more enhancements” to expand your view and include another row. You can also click the “All optimizations” button at the top right to switch to view the standard enhancements.

Some accounts will see a toggle to turn on all enhancements, while others will enable certain ones by default. In this case, it’s best to double-check which ones improve your ad.
